This project involves the rehabilitation of the Wolf Creek Bridge on State Route 9 in Cocke County, Tennessee.
Due to age related deterioration, the Wolf Creek Bridge has been undergoing major rehabilitation. The Tennessee Department of Transportation determined that the bridge should be repaired rather than replaced because of its eligibility for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
The rehabilitation project involved complete removal of the bridge deck and the spandrel columns. The spandrel arches have undergone major repair work but retain their existing appearance.
The Wolf Creek Bridge reopened to traffic on February 2, 2014. Site cleanup, additional staining, and other work will occur over the next couple of months with a completion date of April 30, 2014 for the entire project.
