Project Timeline

All TDOT projects, including the SR-76/US 79 project, are developed through a five-step process illustrated below.

The project is currently in the design phase. Design plans are being developed. Once preliminary work is complete. The local communities will be invited out for a public design meeting in order to provide input and state any comments or issues.

Since this project has been broken down into three smaller projects (which are explained in the Project Home tab), there will be three separate public meetings held in their respective communities to discuss the design with the communities.

Past Milestones:

  • Environmental Document Approved – May 2001
  • Preliminary Design Began – July 2012

Future Milestones:

  • Public Design Meeting – Late Spring 2013*
  • Preliminary Plans Finalized – Summer/Fall 2013**
  • ROW Plans Finalized – Fall 2014**
  • ROW Phase Begins – Winter 2014**

*This is the first of three public meetings. This meeting will cover section 1, with meetings for sections 2 and 3 coming in the Summer and Fall of 2013.
**Sections 2 and 3 will most likely not develop in parallel with Section 1. As the later dates for Section 2 and 3 are known, they will be shared.
