TDOT funds the State Industrial Access Program.
The State Industrial Access Program is a state funded program with an annual budget of approximately $19 million established to assist local governments with funding projects that provide access to new and or expanding industries.
TDOT’s goal is to effectively and efficiently invest budgeted program funds into the state’s industrial economy to advance the growth of the state’s local economy while providing new employment opportunities. This program has continued to expand since its inception in 1959. Currently, there are 25 projects under development statewide. From 2001 through 2006 a total of 75 projects were completed which are now providing access to industries. Through this program, TDOT provides assistance with funding, engineering and construction.
