The Division of Multimodal Transportation Resources includes Public Transportation; Rail and Waterways; Bicycle and Pedestrian Programs; Rail Inspection and Safety; and the Section 130 Rail-Highway Grade Crossing Program. The Division administers state and federal grant programs for public transportation. On rail and water transportation, inspects railroads and rail crossings for safety, provides safety upgrades at key highway-rail crossings. The Division's Bicycle and Pedestrian Program provides coordination with TDOT resurfacing projects, awards the Multimodal Access Grants to local communities and serves as a liaison between TDOT and with bicycle and pedestrian stakeholders.
