The Pavement Management section is responsible for operating and maintaining a database that contains historical and current pavement surface conditions of all State Routes and Interstates in Tennessee .  Pavement condition data collected includes smoothness, rutting, and many surface distresses.  Many types of reports can be generated using the Pavement Management Software based on the users' needs.  This network level data can be used throughout TDOT to determine roadway needs, effectiveness of treatments, budget requirements, and rates of deterioration.
