I-65 Widening-Williamson County
from SR 840 to SR 248
Project Description
With the widening and improvements to I-65 from SR-96 to SR-248 in Williamson County completed, TDOT is now working toward the letting of the contract for the section from SR-840 to SR-248. The project is expected to be let to contract sometime this summer or early fall. Like the first project, the I-65 Widening Project will consist of the widening of I-65 from two to four lanes in each direction. It will include the modification of the interchange at State Route 248 (Goose Creek) and widening of the State Route 248 approaches to the interchange from two lanes to four. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) proposed the improvements to relieve congestion levels and improve safety.
