Can I search a pdf file for content?
Yes. From the Adobe Acrobat reader pdf file, go to the menu bar, select "Edit" and then select "find". Type in the word(s) you want to search in the pdf document.
How do I contact a real person to answer questions I may have?
The Contacts link in the top menu bar will direct you to TDOT Environmental Division contact information.
Will I be linked directly to information I'm looking for via links within the TEPM website?
Yes. The links on the website should take you directly to other websites and/or sources of information. (Hint: If you are linked to a website where the information you are looking for is not apparent, do a word search using their search engine to quickly find hits on your topic)
How often will content on the TEPM website be updated?
The TEPM website content will be updated at least every two years. Look at the top of the right-hand navigation menu to find out when the website was last updated.
How do I know which version of the TEPM is the most current?
The current version of the TEPM appears on the home page. Revision history may be viewed by selecting the Revisions link in the top menu bar. Users are encouraged to join the email list to receive email notification of TEPM revisions.
How can I keep track of changes made to the TEPM?
A complete revision history of all manual changes will be posted online under the Revisions link in the top menu bar. Users are encouraged to join the email list to receive email notification of revisions.
How can I obtain a hard copy of the entire TEPM?
A hard copy of the TEPM may be obtained by printing the entire manual from the website home page. Printable chapters, figures and forms may be obtained from the drop-down menu at the top of each chapter page.
Who should I contact if I find errors in the TEPM content or problems with the website?
Report all problems using the online error report form. A link to the form appears on every website page at the bottom of the right-hand navigation menu.
How can I find specific information quickly without having to navigate through the entire online Manual?
The Search Engine and Detailed Table of Contents are great tools for quick access to information on the website. The search engine text box can be found at the top of the right-hand navigation menu. Simply type a key word(s) into the text box and select "go" to perform a search. A link to the Detailed Table of Contents is found at the top of the right-hand navigation menu on every page of the Manual.
Who should I contact if I can't find the information I am looking for?
If you do not find the information you are looking for after using the TEPM Search Engine or browsing the Detailed Table of Contents, please use the contact list.
Do I need specialized software to use the online TEPM?
The Tennessee Environmental Procedures Manual is presented online in both HTML (the online language of the Internet) and Adobe Acrobat format (pdf). The website is optimized for viewing with both Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers at a display screen resolution of 1024 x 768. If your computer system doesn't currently have Adobe Acrobat installed, you may install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat by selecting the link at the bottom of the right-hand navigation menu column on the website; follow the instructions provided by the Adobe Acrobat website.
What version of Adobe Acrobat do I need on my computer in order to view and print PDF files from the TEPM website?
The Tennessee Department of Transportation is currently using Adobe Acrobat Version 6.0 but you can view and print PDF files using any version of Adobe Acrobat.
