The Chief Operating Officer works closely with the Bureau Chiefs to manage the daily operations in the department, focusing on the Commissioner's strategic vision for the agency. Working with TDOT's division leaders, the COO works to improve efficiencies and higher levels of productivity in the areas of project planning, project delivery and asset management. The divisions of Operational Efficiency, Project Management, Strategic Planning and Internal Audit report directly to the COO.
