Updated June 25, 2014

TRAFFIC ALERT:

The intersection of Ball Camp Pike and Dewine Road will be closing on June 27, 2014. All Traffic on Dewine Road will have to utilize other means of access. The closure of this intersection is required for the construction and installation of new sanitary sewer lines. The anticipated timeframe for this closure is three to five weeks, at which time traffic on Dewine Road will be allowed to access Ball Camp Pike.

*The intersection of Ball Camp Pike and Western Avenue is currently closed. All traffic on Ball Camp Pike should utilize McKamey Road or Goldenrod Circle to access Western Avenue. The closure of Ball Camp Pike at Western Avenue is a permanent closure, and access in this area will be limited until a new alignment of Matlock Road is constructed which will intersect with Western Avenue.

*Construction operations are on-going throughout the project. These items include grading and application of base stone; installation of underdrain systems along Western Avenue; 72 inch storm sewer concrete pipe along Western Avenue; sanitary sewer installation in the area of Ball Camp Pike, and traffic signal installation at McKamey Road and at Palmetto Road, both intersecting with Western Avenue.

*The contractor will begin placing concrete curb and gutter throughout a major portion of the project, from west of Schaad Road to east of McKamey Road within the next few days. After this, asphalt paving will be placed, and traffic will be re-routed along one side of Western Avenue while the remaining side is constructed. This shift in traffic should not interfere with traffic flow, but please be mindful that there will be construction operations, personnel, and heavy equipment operating throughout the project.

Please utilize extreme caution through all work areas, but especially through the section of McKamey Road and Western Avenue.
