Updated September 12, 2014

The short section of McKamey Road between Ball Camp Pike and Western Avenue will close on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 9:00 am.  This closure will last for approximately 4 to 6 weeks.  During this time, the roadway will be completely reconstructed with storm drain, grading, base stone, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and asphalt paving.

Traffic will still be able to access Western Avenue via Ball Camp Pike, Goldenrod Circle, and John May Road.  The section of Ball Camp Pike which is currently closed for sewer construction will be reopened prior to the closure of McKamey.

This closure is necessary to complete the reconstruction in this area.  After the new section of McKamey is re-opened to traffic in 4 to 6 weeks, it will be necessary to close other sections for construction.  These will include Ball Camp Pike from McKamey Road to Western Avenue, including Dewine and Matlock Roads.  TDOT is working with the contractor to schedule the work in a manner that will keep traffic flowing in these areas. However, some disruption will occur.  Please use caution in these areas, or seek alternate routes during this process.  We will place signs and message boards for guidance as necessary.
